Backpeddling (King of Bikes)

Biking, regardless of the style, is a very rewarding and physically beneficial hobby to have. Here at Backpeddling (King of Bikes), we pride ourselves on the knowledge of our staff and our selection of both new and used bikes, one of the largest and most comprehensive in the Tri-City area.

In addition to more conventional road bikes and BMX, we carry a wide variety of classic and antique bicycles that the serious collector or the amateur hobbyist can peruse. But we don’t just sell these rare, older bikes; we also maintain and service them, which can save you a headache in looking for a specialty bike part or service in the more generalist-minded bike shops.

When winter rolls around, most people think that it’s time to put the bikes in the garage until the snow melts, but they would be only half right. Here at Backpeddling, we carry a very unique bike designed for riding over rocks, sand and ice. The Surly Pugsley features a durable 4130 CroMoly steel frame and a four inch front tire that widens to almost seven inches with the application of light pressure on the bike’s frame. This massive tire allows for greater traction over treacherous surfaces and is a much safer alternative to riding your mountain bike over the ice and snow.

While the Pugsley is a unique machine, if you’re looking for something more traditional, Backpeddling has that covered as well. We carry over a thousand bikes, from mountain bikes to BMX to Cruisers and many more from a large group of manufacturers that includes DK, KHS, Surly, Nirve, Hoffman and Free Agent. In addition to providing repairs and service to rare and classic bikes, at Backpeddling we also carry a range of bike accessories and repair parts, making us a very versatile and full-service shop capable of catering to all of your cycling needs.
